What's wrong with this picture????

Actually, I'm rather pleased with the quality of the picture it's self!

About a month and a half ago I had swapped original Bubba for current Bubba at the dealership in Illinois. When I made the swap they said "Make sure you take your foot."...so I did. However, I left the screw in the post...assuming (and you know what happens when you assume) that they had too! What a rude surprise for me after I had dug everything out in preparation for my first stitches in my new room!!!! I checked the box and rolling bag thinking it may have just fallen out...but no such luck. Fortunately, my LQS is a Brother dealer and a replacement screw is on order. They had suggested contacting the other dealership to replace the screw, but it's only going to cost around a dollar....I get to assume for only a dollar!!!!

As you can see, I like containers...especially pretty little decorated boxes and cigar boxes! The two little boxes to the right of the WI plate were purchased years ago with the intent to use them as gift boxes...but I just couldn't part with them.

Let's see...down here I have my rolling office, my old cosmetic case tool box, my very small stash, boxes of pictures and negatives (remember those) and some meaningful items to be discussed on a later post.
We've been in the house over a month now and I have not sewn one stitch, but I'm really enjoying my room...I just love being in there with my stuff and envisioning how and where I will display my stuff.

My Little Feathered Friends

Another collection that I have is of carved wooden birds. Whenever I was out and about I would keep my eye out for them. They've gotten harder for me to find over the years for some reason. There's an endless supply of resin or plastic birds and wooden birds that have been painted, but they're not for me.

Hopefully, now that I'm in the hills, I'll find some folk art whittlers that do little birdies!

Over the years they have suffered some hardships which required a tail or two to be glued back on and some of their little beaks aren't as pointy as
they use to be...but I still love them all!

Next I'll post pictures of my closet...I love containers too!!!!

More of Peppermint Patty and Friends

Patty and Friends have a home.
It's a good thing I have a lot of wall space because I have a lot of treasures to put up. Next to go up will be my oriental plates on metal bamboo racks.
Yesterday when I was in our Walmart, I tried to find some doggy material to make Reggie a bed for the quilt room. No luck....will have to check the LQS.

Peppermint Patty and Friends

I've been trying to remember how long I've had Patty...36 years sounds about right. If my memory serves me correctly, it was a give from my sorority pledge daughter. All of the Oz figures belong to Sweetie (W of O is one of his favz) and he thought my room would be the best place for them...I think so too. I should be able to post a picture (it's all about lighting) of them in their mounted rack tomorrow.

If things fall into place this morning, I'm going to attend my first Coosawattee River Resort Garden Club meeting. The next social outing on the list is the local quilt guild at the Methodist Church in Ellijay. Then there is the lunch and sew held periodically at The Quilt Shop On The Square. That reminds me, I have to change my email address with them!

Quilting Room Coming Together

I must be doing something wrong when I put my posts together because the pictures don't show up where I expect. I'm usually dragging text around and the pictures too. It's always a surprise even after a preview...it takes a couple of edits after it post. So much to learn!

Anyway, now that I have the Costco table back, the new Ott light out of the box (Sweetie had to work with the switch to get it to work!!!) and Bubba back on the table...it's starting to look like a creative space!!!

Ok, now for my second picture...let's see where the text shows up. I should just let it be after I post so you know what I mean. The text for both pictures should start even with the top of each picture.

This is my view looking out over Bubba. I think I would like a little table in front of the dormer window just for piecing...it's a nice view. After Sweetie gets his shop up and running, he will make me an L shaped sewing table in the corner for putting the quilt top together and for quilting. It will be great to have a table that doesn't shake and sag in the middle...Bubba is a hefty boy!

Ok, now this paragraph should appear on the left under the picture....time to publish and see what happens.

The last POD is almost empty

This is a picture of our driveway that I took this summer.

Backing up the driveway seemed easy for the driver!

Even having to jockey around up to here wasn't much of a problem.

The POD touched down last Friday and we've been taking our time with unloading. We should finish today.

We Are Really Here!!!

We've actually been here for a few days, but we just realized that we can tap into our neighbors wireless at night. My sweetie is thrilled that he can stream the Blackhawks on WGN! We won't be getting our cable/Internet until the 12th...It's a good thing that my sweetie called them over a week ago!

My quilting stuff is accumulating in my dedicated quilting room...it sounds too pretentious to say "studio". Maybe if someday I get a mid arm....then I'll call it a studio:)

The first phase of unpacking is is done. One 16 ft truck down...one 16 ft POD and one 8 ft POD to go...they come on the 8th. Maybe in between now and then, I can play in my room!

I'll try and post a picture tomorrow night.
